I think Rachel Weisz is so much better than DeHaviland in this. This is a psychological drama, and I can see that It would not be for everyone. It is ambiguous and leaves many unanswered questions. Just remember the point of view is Philip's. And he is grieving for the death of his cousin and is very unworldly and gauche.
