LAPD African Cops Synopsis Two Africans join the L.A.P.D., and use their African norms and values to dispatch justice.

125 Years Of African-Americans In The LAPD The men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department proudly commemorate and celebrate National African-American History Month. We salute the brave men and women of African descent whose actions and achievements contributed to the advancement of the nation’s and Los Angeles’ history.

Christopher Jordan Dorner (September 11, 1979 – February 12, 2013) was a Los Angeles police officer who, beginning on February 3, 2013, committed a series of shootings in Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside County, California. The victims were police and civilians, including police families. Dorner killed four people and wounded three others.

The Los Angeles Police Department was formed in 1869, and has since become the third-largest law enforcement agency in the United States. They have been involved in various events in history, such as the Black Dahlia murder case, and the infamous Rampart scandal.

It is the mission of the LAPD to safeguard the lives and property of the people we serve. To reduce the incidence and fear of crime, and to enhance public safety while working with the diverse communities to improve their quality of life.

Los Angeles police officers search blacks and Latinos far more often than whites during traffic stops, even though whites are more likely to be found with illegal items, a Times analysis has found.
